PHD Programmes

The Programme is offered in field in which the corresponding faculty member is intersted. Following are the main points of Ph.D programme:


  • AC PGC will be deemed to be the selection committee to consider all applications for admission to External Registration Program for Ph.D.


  • The applicant should preferably have a master's degree in relevant subject with marks/CPI not below 6.5 on scale of 10. In exceptional cases applicants with a bachelor's degree in engineering with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum may also be considered.


  • Admission to the Ph.D. programs will be based on written tests, interviews and/or GATE score.


  • On approval by the Chairman of the Academic Council, the Chairman of the AC PGC will issue the admission letters to the candidates. Candidates will be required to deposit the prescribed fee on or before the specified date.


  • Student with B.tech Degree:

    • Student with B.Tech. Degree needs to compelete 94 Credits:-32 credits through Course and 64 credits through Research

    • It comprises of 8 semesters and maximum time period given is 7 years to complete them.



  • Student with M.Tech. Degree:

    • Student with M.Tech. Degree needs to compelete 80 Credits:-16 credits through Course and 64 credits through Research

    • It comprises of 8 semesters and maximum time period given is 6 years to complete them.



  • Student with M.Sc., M.A., M.Phil:

    • Student with M.Sc., M.A., M.Phil Degree needs to compelete 88 Credits:-24 credits through Course and 64 credits through Research

    • It comprises of 8 semesters and maximum time period given is 6 years to complete them.
