Academic Momentum

At LNMIIT, students work hard to create a bright future for themselves and for the community. They study various subjects and sharpen their intellectual and work-related skills from basic English to managing complex computer networks to critical thinking of analytical problems. This rigorous process empowers them to pursue their interests in the academia or in industry. To this end, the institute and students have taken several initiatives, a few of which are listed below:

Computer Science and Engineering:
The CSE discipline was established to train engineers at UG and PG levels, equip them with the fundamental concepts and techniques of computing and applications, relevant to emerging technological advancements. The program is focussed to foster a learning environment that produces high quality computer professionals readily employable by the industry and research organizations. The program also provides an opportunity to conduct collaborative research focusing on emerging trends in domains like Software Engineering, Distributed and Cloud Computing, Data Mining, Data Warehousing and Multi-core Architecture.
The CSE discipline is supported by a team of faculty members having excellent research credentials as well as extensive industry experience. The lab facilities include Programming Lab, Digital Communication Lab, DBMS Lab, and Computer Networks Lab.

Communication and Computer Engineering:
The CCE discipline was established in the year 2003, with the objective of making engineers at UG and PG levels capable of dealing with the fusion of electronic communication and computer science, a trend relevant to today’s industry needs. The discipline also aims at conducting research focusing on the fusion of multi-disciplinary skills employed in designing modern computing devices with communication channels and communication systems with advanced computer algorithms.
The CCE discipline is arguably the best career option on offer at LNMIIT, in terms of market needs and growth prospects. The discipline is ably supported by an excellent team of faculty members, many of them having extensive industry-based experience. The CCE lab facilities include the Electronics Lab, Analog Communication Lab, Programming Lab, Digital Communication Lab, DBMS Lab, Computer Networks Lab, ECAD Lab and Microwave and Optical Communication Lab.

Electronics and Communication Engineering:
The ECE discipline was introduced to impart, both in depth and content, the basic fundamental knowledge and understanding in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering, with the vision to become a unique and top-notch department through pioneering excellence in teaching, research and scholarship. It aims to keep students fully tuned to the pace of growth of the modern trends of technology along with real life applications and challenges. The ECE team is a fine blend of renowned as well as young and dynamic faculty members, having education and experience from renowned institutions in India and abroad. The ECE department also offers specialized M.Tech. and Dual Degree program in Communication Systems, Microelectronics, Microwave engineering and VLSI.

Mechanical - Mechatronics Engineering:
The Mechanical - Mechatronics Engineering (MME) discipline was established with the objective to train graduates for dealing with real life challenges in the field of Mechanical and Mechatronics industries and equip them with the fundamental concepts and techniques of mechatronics applications, relevant to emerging technological advancements. The program is focussed to conduct collaborative research, focusing on emerging trends in domains like Computer Aided Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Automation, Robotics etc. The MME discipline is supported by a team of faculty members having excellent research credentials as well as extensive industry experience.

Mechanical Engineering:
The main objective of the mechanical engineering undergraduate program is to impart the ability to deal with real life challenges in the field of Mechanical industries and equip them with the fundamental concepts and techniques of Mechanical engineering applications, relevant to emerging technological advancements. The graduates will become Mechanical professionals readily employable by the industry and research organizations. The program is focussed to conduct collaborative research focusing on emerging trends in domains like Computer aided manufacturing, Design engineering, thermal engineering, Robotics etc. The program also provides an opportunity to develop communication, leadership skills and an understanding of ethical choices in the engineering profession.
